Hi loves, happy Monday! Sorry I’m a few days late, but I was in Austin being a full adult (college students are essentially half-adults). Things were crazy in the office this past week and I feel as though I have so much to tell you, but not enough pages. How about the short version then?
Last week was a little hectic being the end of the month and all. What does that exactly mean for social teams? Planning!! Ah my OCD mind loves this stage. I’m talking about editorial calendars, color-coded to-do lists, blog outlines, client communication and the feeling when you get it all done. If you’re a little confused on these things, here’s a quick overview:
- An editorial calendar maps out my social accounts’ months into what content I’ll be creating and posting, when I’ll post, and what medium I’ll be posting through. Very exciting and it’s all based on research (engagement, audience demographics, successes, etc.) I conduct each week!
- Color-coded to-do lists…I like my colors, it helps me visualize things easily.
- My blog outlines are my saving grace! With over 20 blogs each month, it helps to assign the topics discussed all at once. That way, when it comes to the writing week, I’ve already crossed the brainstorming step.
So I spent Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday planning each of these things for several clients at a time. I really enjoy this aspect of it, even if it may sound a little boring or crazy (depending how much you love organization). It’s a great thing for me to look forward to the next month and see how I can reach more people, make the company stand out, or portray who they are in a unique way.
Now I get to move from planning to scheduling! Don’t worry, I’ll tell you all about it at the end of the week.
Stay awesome,
MB
